Hope everyone had a good halloween this past weekend. I made pumpkin cheesecake tarts for a little "get together" at a friends house.

At the party we watched a few movies that were wonderful. I put the trailers bellow. One was a vampire movie set in Europe and the other is a zombie movie set in Ontario, Canada. They were both spectacular. I highly recommend them. I would give both movies ★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars. They were really awesome halloween movies. I am so impressed by both that I am over the moon excited to post it them both. I plan to do a youtube vid on these two films.

Funny Halloween TV moment

This is for those who watch American television and know who Ellen DeGeneres and Kellie Pickler are. Ellen has her own Talk Show and Kellie is an American Idol Alumni. This made me laugh my ass off. Kellie needs her own Talk Show. That girl is so naturally funny.

Craft Books in the Mail

I got these in the mail this morning and I am so happy. Finally I have some good patterns on how to bead a damn bead. My sad little trial and errors are at an end. However the pattern details are no easy task in the beaded beads book. I am bound and determined to master this. I have big plans and I want it to work out.

I picked up the zulu beads book because I loved the patterns on the cover and I want to adapt some of their looks to a Native North American design aesthetic. The strange and wonderful thing was that I was already doing one of the patterns in this book, but it had already organically come to my imagination before I got this book. It was fated to come to me :)

These books make me smile. I had a strange day. I almost missed my lecture today that "I teach" because I messed up and forgot the time it was held. Then tonight I went to my book bag and saw that my water bottle had destroyed my teaching binder where I keep all the students attendance records, my notes and a student essay. LOVELY! So I am hiding out in my new books and ignoring the rest of the world.

Caturday thoughts

Here’s what your cats are really thinking when you’re talking baby-talk-like to them:

Spaghetti Day

I spent the day making spaghetti sauce. I made a video about it and I have yet to edit the whole think just yet. I think I was hiding out from writing my lectures for this coming week. I find myself really dreading my job and all the responsibilities that go along with it, but I keep doing it because...well frankly...there are no other options. I struggled this week to get my reference letters together for a job that I am applying for. I hate asking people for reference letters. Relying on other people to help you get a job is so frustrating. Every year I go through this and it is torture to get it in all at the same time. So to avoid thinking about the stress of the whole thing and also trying to avoid having to write my next lecture I made a huge pot of spaghetti sauce.

Beading Spheres

Tonight I am trying my hand at a new beading project. In the past I have seen beaded spheres and I have the pattern to try it, but it I have been struggling for months to adequately execute it probably...to my exacting standards. It is a real struggle. I often have a hard time with new beading projects, but eventually I figure the patterns out and get obsessed with doing it over and over again. I hope to have some photos soon....that is if I am successful.

I have also been busy getting my resume ready to send out for future jobs. It is scary but I am pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone and be aggressive about going after jobs that I want. I want this year to be the year that I land a permanent job.

Stress and Sick Pets

Today turned into a stressful day when our cat pickle peed a white glop with a big red chunk onto the carpet. My first thought was what the heck was that? The next thought was that she must have an infection...again. It is a common occurrence for both pickle the cat and my other pet Abby who is a dog. Tomorrow we are bringing the dog to the vet because she has a skin infection that just won't clear up. Now the cat is sick. I know they will both be okay, but I have been feeling the stress lately and this only made things worse. Those two poor animals have been struggling lately with infections every other month. I just don't know why they keep getting sick. They don't go outside for any length of time. Abby is to old to go for walks and she does not hang out with other dogs. The cat has her litter changed every weekend. It just doesn't make sense why they keep getting sick. It is frustrating and really taxing on our bank accounts. I just needed to blab on for a bit. Sometimes a girl just needs to let stuff out :(
